Not far from the German city of Hockenheim, the body of a 27-year-old Ukrainian refugee who was killed was found on the dam of the Rhine River. Law enforcement agencies are now actively looking for the woman's mother and newborn daughter.
According to Bild, the woman's body was discovered on March 7 at a military checkpoint on the Rhine River by a local resident. After the forensic examination, it was established that the Ukrainian woman was suspected of murder.
The woman was previously reported missing and police were searching for her.
Together with the woman, her five-week-old daughter and her 51-year-old mother disappeared.
According to information, the deceased lived with her daughter and mother in a house for refugees in the Rhine-Neckar area. Both women and the newborn child disappeared on March 4.
The mother, identified by the police as Maryna Stetsenko, is considered one of the key witnesses to the murder, as it is likely that she was the last person to communicate with the murdered woman.
Currently, law enforcement agencies are conducting an investigation by a special commission in order to establish the exact circumstances of the crime.
As of March 13, the police received about 50 calls, but no information about the identity of the killer has been found.
