On August 21, an incident took place in Odesa that caused a significant response. During the check by the servicemen of the Territorial Center for Manpower and Social Support (TCC and SP) of military registration data, one of the passers-by threatened them with a pistol. According to law enforcement officers, the man put a weapon to the chest of one of the soldiers, and then disappeared from the scene.
It is known that the incident occurred when checking military personnel stopped a passer-by to check his documents. The man refused to provide his documents and provoked a conflict. During the dispute, he threatened physical violence and the use of a gun, which was the reason for contacting the police.
According to the report of the National Police of the Odesa region, the law enforcement officers quickly established the identity of the offender. He turned out to be a 38-year-old man who refused to provide an explanation for his actions. During the search, a pistol was seized from him, previously identified as a pneumatic pistol chambered for Flaubert. The weapon was sent for examination.
The police have opened criminal proceedings on the fact of death threats in accordance with Article 129 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The Malinov District Prosecutor's Office of the city of Odesa conducts the procedural management of the case and resolves the issue of notifying the husband of suspicion.
