On August 3, 2024, a large-scale operation to eliminate a powerful drug gang operating on the territory of Ukraine took place in Odesa. Operatives of the Odesa border detachment, together with the National Police, conducted a successful operation that allowed to block the activities of this cartel.
The drug cartel consisted of five people. Criminals advertised services for the sale of "goods" through dozens of closed Telegram channels. With the help of the messenger, drug dealers received orders and optimized the process of delivering various drugs to buyers through postal services. "Bookmarks" were also used.
According to the results of authorized searches of the residences of the perpetrators, the law enforcement officers discovered and seized almost four kilograms of drugs of various types, including: cocaine, cannabis, Alfa-PVP, amphetamine, LSD, ecstasy, MDMA. In addition, other physical evidence was collected: 9,000 dollars, 27,000 hryvnias, mobile phones, electronic scales, a vacuum cleaner, packing material and bank cards. According to "black market" prices, the value of seized drugs is almost 2.3 million hryvnias.
Members of the criminal group were detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. They were informed of the suspicion under part 2 of Art. 307 of the CCU. Actions to expose the drug gang were carried out by operatives of the Odesa border squad together with the UBN and SU GUNP in the Odesa region with the force support of fighters of the border special unit "DOZOR" and under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor's office of the Odesa region.
