In Odessa for 12 thousand dollars, the employees of the shopping center helped to "cut off" from the service

In Odessa, law enforcement officers exposed the scheme of illegal dismissal of servicemen from the Armed Forces for money. For this "service", two soldiers demanded $ 12,000.

About it reports the Office of the Prosecutor General.

According to the investigation, one of the territorial defense servicemen demanded 12,000 dollars for colleagues. For this money, he promised to "resolve the issue" with the Military Medical Commission (VLK) to receive a certificate of unfitness.

As the investigation revealed, the suspect used liaison in medical institutions to agree on the necessary diagnosis. For the corresponding amount, the Military Medical Commission was to issue a conclusion that entitled to dismiss from the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The suspect was detained while receiving a bribe. Money and documents that could be evidence in the case were seized.

Criminal proceedings are currently opened and investigative actions are ongoing. The serviceman faces up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property in accordance with Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (obtaining an undue benefit by an official).

This is not the first case of exposing such schemes in the military medical commissions. In the midst of the war, attempts to illegally obtain a "white ticket" or evasion of bribery became widespread, which forced the authorities to review the medical examination procedures.

Earlier in Kyiv and Lviv, the VLK doctors who sold certificates on military service were already detained. The government recently intensified control over the work of these commissions, and in the Armed Forces stated a large -scale check of all decisions of the VLK, adopted since the beginning of the war.

If the guilt of the military is proven in court, he is threatened:

  • Imprisonment for a term of 5 to 10 years
  • Confiscation of property
  • Deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions

The investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement officers do not exclude that other persons involved, including employees of the VLK, may appear in the case.
