A violent fight took place in one of the supermarkets of the Odesa region, which led to serious consequences. A 24-year-old man attacked a store security guard because of remarks about keeping in line at the cash register. The victim received severe head injuries, reports the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Odesa Region.
The cashier informed about the event that happened in one of the shops in the city of Izmail. On the spot, the police established that "one of the visitors, trying to get to the cash register without waiting in line, started arguing with the security guard, who made a remark to him." "During the dispute, the citizen punched the store employee in the face, causing him to fall and faint," the police said.
An ambulance was called to the 54-year-old victim, as indicated. Medics took him to the hospital, where they diagnosed him with a closed craniocerebral injury, a brain contusion and fractures of several skull bones. According to the conclusion of the forensic medical examination, the injuries received by the man belong to the category of severe.
"The perpetrator fled from the scene, but the police quickly tracked him down and found him in another part of the city within an hour. He turned out to be a 24-year-old resident of Safyanivska community, who was already in the field of view of the law enforcement officers. Last year, he was convicted of causing minor bodily harm to a fellow villager and was sentenced to a fine," the police said.
Currently, the person involved has been informed of the suspicion of intentional grievous bodily harm, life-threatening at the time of occurrence. According to the sanction of ch. 1 Art. 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, this crime is punishable by imprisonment for up to eight years. According to the court's decision, the suspect was placed under 24-hour house arrest for the duration of the investigation.
