As it became known from the information provided by the publication "Dumska", in the Odesa region a city council official decided to give up her children so that her husband could go abroad. This decision was made by the Belgorod-Dniester City District Court, which, according to the source, systematically makes similar decisions, which became the reason for the investigation by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU). As part of this investigation, one of the judges was detained.
In this case, the husband of Maria Golovchenko, head of the Youth and Sports Department of the Belgorod-Dniester City Council, sued for divorce, insisting that their two common children stay with him. Courts usually rule in favor of the mother in such cases, but in Belgorod-Dnistrovsk during 2022-2023, more than a thousand decisions were made in favor of the parents. This is what happened in this case as well: the children were taken away from the official, retaining her parental rights.
Half a year after the divorce, the official congratulated her husband on his birthday on Facebook: "The best person in my life is celebrating his birthday today. Happy birthday, my soul, my strong shoulder, Hennadiy Golovchenko."
"Dumska" assumes that this decision was made so that the man could go abroad, although the fact itself was not confirmed by the publication.
