People's Deputy of Ukraine Danylo Hetmantsev announced his intention to seek inclusion in the agenda of the Verkhovna Rada of the draft law on the decriminalization of pornography. According to him, the current legal framework, which equates the commercial creation of pornographic content to a criminal offense, is outdated and does not correspond to modern realities.
"59 million hryvnias of personal income tax and military duty have been paid. This is very important money for the country during the war and we are grateful to the girls for their responsible position and contribution to the victory," he wrote to himself in the Telegram channel.
Hetmantsev noted that the fact that the models did not pay the tax on time cannot be grounds for criminal prosecution if the taxes were paid. According to him, law enforcement officers share this approach.
"Separately for prosecution under Article 301 of the Criminal Code ("Import, manufacture, sale and distribution of pornographic objects" - UNIAN). It seems to me that the festival of hypocrisy, when society "morally condemns" with one hand and takes money for the army with the other, or when content creators are persecuted by its users, should be ended," the deputy wrote.
He added that he would insist on the inclusion of his colleagues' bill on the decriminalization of this article in the parliament's agenda.
Decriminalization of pornography - what is known
In November, a bill was registered in the Verkhovna Rada, which provides for the abolition of criminal liability for the filming and distribution of intimate videos by adults.
According to People's Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak, according to the draft law, criminal responsibility will remain exclusively for porn without consent (revenge porn, deep fake), extreme porn (rape, zoo-, necrophilia) and porn with children and distribution among children.
