In Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada is considering draft law No. 9016, which proposes to introduce new fines for drivers who transport animals in cars without proper fixation. The draft law provides for punishment in the form of fines from 510 to 850 hryvnias for dangerous transportation of animals.
Animals in the car can distract the driver, which increases the risk of accidents. If a car is involved in an accident at high speed, unrestrained cats or dogs can not only be injured or killed, but also dangerous to the driver and passengers, causing serious injuries.
The date of consideration of the draft law by the Verkhovna Rada is still unknown. Currently, the document is included in the agenda of the current session of the parliament and is being reviewed by the relevant committees.
We will remind, "Ukrzaliznytsia" proposed to change the rules of transportation of animals. The new animal transportation rules will allow the use of backpacks, avoid carriers for small animals, allow large dogs to travel in SV and Intercity+ carriages when purchasing a compartment, and service dogs will be able to travel for free.
