In Ukraine, mobilization will last at least by August

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has signed laws on the continuation of martial law and general mobilization. They will remain in force until August 6, 2025. About it reports the newspaper "Glavkom" with reference to the official cards of the draft laws №13172 and №13173.

The President signed the relevant documents on Friday, April 18. This is the fifteen consecutive continuation of martial law and mobilization since the beginning of the full -scale war of Russia against Ukraine on February 24, 2022.

Documents provide that since May 9, a special legal regime will be extended for 90 days, ie by August 6, 2025.

We will remind, on April 16 the Verkhovna Rada approved the corresponding draft laws. 357 MPs voted in favor of their support, while Alexei Goncharenko gave the only voice against the European Solidarity faction.

Martial law is a special legal regime that envisages the expansion of military command, restriction of some constitutional rights and the possibility of involving the population in defense tasks. Also, within the framework of martial law, military administrations, a curfew, restriction on departure and other measures are allowed to be introduced.

At the same time, general mobilization has been continued, which allows the conscript of Ukrainian citizens aged 18 to 60. The call is not subject to those who have legitimate grounds for delay or exclusion from military accounting.
