In Ukraine can introduce compulsory mobilization of women in May

Already in May, the Verkhovna Rada is expected to register new laws that will be preparing the civilian population for national resistance. This was reported by lawyer Marina Bekal in a comment TSN.ua.

According to her, changes may include various formats of involvement of citizens, including women, in defense measures. Although there is no forced mobilization of women in Ukraine at this time, such innovations are not excluded.

“The changes may also be forced to mobilize women in certain specialties. And maybe the programs will only include mandatory courses in providing medical care, civil defense or conducting information events in schools and universities, ”the lawyer explained.

The lawyer emphasized that mobilization is not only a referral to combat units, but also to perform tasks at defense enterprises, in the sphere of communication, transport, energy or health. All this, she said, is quite possible for women.

“The Constitution of Ukraine explicitly states that protection of independence and territorial integrity is a duty of every citizen. Therefore, making changes to the profile legislation can legally open the possibility for compulsory mobilization of women, ”Marina Bekalo added.

New initiatives of the Verkhovna Rada are expected to concern a comprehensive approach to the preparation of the population in the conditions of martial law, with an emphasis not only on the army, but also on providing the rear and strategic spheres.
