Forced evacuation of almost 50 settlements was announced in Ukraine

Oleg Sinegubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military-Civil Administration, said that due to continuous shelling by the Russian Federation, families with children in Kharkiv Oblast are forced to evacuate in 47 settlements.

The decision to evacuate was made at a meeting of the Regional Defense Council. In particular, this applies to settlements located near the border with Russia. Almost two hundred children live in such places in Kharkiv, Bogodukhiv and Izyum districts.

Local authorities have already determined evacuation routes and provided temporary accommodation for people.

Earlier, the regional authorities considered the possibility of forced evacuation from the northern part of the region.

In December 2022, the ex-Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksiy Reznikov, stated that in the event of a new Russian invasion of Ukraine, a complete evacuation of the population is not planned. He explained that there are plans for evacuation on the ground, but emphasized that this is a difficult issue, as the evacuation of the civilian population is an extremely difficult task.
