Ukraine has launched a large-scale audit of more than 1,500 officials who received the status of persons with disabilities based on decisions of medical and social expert commissions (MSEC). This decision was made due to suspicions of possible violations during the registration of such statuses.
The Ministry of Health, together with law enforcement agencies, will conduct a review of the validity of the decisions of medical and social expert commissions (MSEC) regarding the establishment of disability for 1,695 officials from over 30 state bodies.
The review involved data from the SBU, the State Bureau of Investigation, and the Prosecutor General's Office. Among the officials whose cases will be reviewed are:
32% – tax service employees;
26% – prosecutor's office employees;
17% – customs service employees;
25% – employees of other government agencies.
The inspections will last two months. In case of unjustified decisions of the MSEC, they will be reviewed.
