It is planned to build 45 hotels in Ukraine by 2026

Despite the challenges associated with the war, Ukraine continues to work on the restoration and development of the tourist infrastructure. According to the research company Ribas Hotels Group, 45 new hotels are planned to be built by 2026, which indicates the country's intention to preserve and strengthen its tourism potential.

Optima Hotels (64 hotels), Ribas Hotels Group (21) and Premier Hotels and Resorts (11) are the leaders in the number of hotels. Among foreign chains, the leaders in terms of presence are Accor with nine hotels and Radisson with five.

The average occupancy of Ukrainian hotels in the first half of 2024 was 34-38%, and in some regions in the west of the country (in the Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpattia regions) it reached 60-70%.

According to analysts' forecast, after the end of the war, the tourist flow in Ukraine may increase to 14.5 million people. Thus, the current number of rooms will not be able to meet the demand.

According to Ribas Hotels Group, the potential need for room stock may be +30-40% of the current number.
