In the near future, martial law and general mobilization may be extended for another 90 days in Ukraine. The relevant draft laws are already being prepared for consideration in the Verkhovna Rada.
Yaroslav Zheleznyak, People's Deputy from "Golos" reported this in Telegram.
Martial law and general mobilization in Ukraine will be extended for another 90 days. Voting in the Verkhovna Rada is expected as early as next week. The corresponding decision must be made by February 8, since the current presidential decrees are valid until this date. Once extended, martial law and mobilization will continue until May 9, 2025.
In order to continue these measures, the president must submit to the parliament two draft laws on the approval of his decrees. As one of the parliamentarians noted, it is expected that this will happen already on Monday. After the bills are submitted for consideration, they will be sent to the Verkhovna Rada's Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence for preliminary approval.
After consideration in the committee, the draft laws will be submitted to the parliament for a vote. If the deputies support the continuation of martial law and mobilization, the president will sign the corresponding laws. This will ensure stability in the country in wartime conditions and contribute to the further strengthening of defense capabilities.
Mobilization in Ukraine will continue in 2025 without changes in age restrictions, men between the ages of 25 and 60 will be called up for service. Special attention will be paid to citizens with combat experience and specialists in the in-demand fields.
