Ukraine continued its martial law and mobilization until May 9, 2025. However, not all men are mobilized. There are categories of persons who are given a deferral from military service. This is defined by the new Law of Ukraine “On Mobilization Training and Mobilization”, which allows not to serve those who fall under certain criteria.
Who is entitled to delay from mobilization
Delay can be obtained:
- Persons with disabilities are people who have confirmed disability.
- Temporarily unsuitable for the service - conscripts who, according to the results of the Medical Commission (VLK), cannot temporarily serve in the army.
- Parents of three or more underage children - if they do not have alimony debts, they are given a deferral.
- Men in whom close relatives were killed or missing during the ATO or war - this applies to persons whose relatives were involved in national security.
- People who care for loved ones are those whose relatives are disabled in the first or second group and have no other guardian.
- Care for an elderly relative - if there are no other relatives who can care, the delay is provided in this case.
- The wife of a group 3 disabled - this can also be the basis for delay from service.
In addition, students can count on a day or dual form, and teachers and scientists with a scientific degree and a rate of at least 0.75.
How to decorate a delay from mobilization
- The statement to the Tax Code and JV - the military must apply for a deferral, taking with them a military ticket and a passport.
- Submission of documents - together with the application it is necessary to submit documents confirming the right to the deferral, or their certified copies.
- Appeals through Reserve+ - students, disabled people and large parents can design a deferral at home through the Reserve+System.
It is important to know
- The deferral is given for a fixed term and must be continued after the expiration date.
- The deferral is canceled in several cases, for example, if a person is exempted from a critically important enterprise or this enterprise loses critical status.
The Cabinet of Ministers continued until March 31, the deferral for employees of critical enterprises so that businesses can confirm their statuses and release staff under new criteria.
