The situation with mobilization in Ukraine is causing new discussions, in particular, regarding the rights and duties of employees of the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Centers (TCC). A serious concern is the fact that citizens often obstruct TCC employees who perform their duties under martial law.
Sergeant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andriy Sokolov in his interview with the publication "Tvoye misto" stated that the employees of the TCC should have expanded powers, including the right to use force. According to him, the situation when TCC employees are attacked is unacceptable, and the need for the right to use physical force and even firearms is a matter of safety and efficiency in the performance of their duties.
Sokolov explained that TCC employees face aggression from citizens who often do not admit their guilt. This creates conflict situations in which the employees themselves are often blamed. Sokolov emphasized that TCC employees are in difficult conditions and have the right to protection, so they should be able to use physical force if necessary.
Especially in the context of war, Sokolov emphasized that attacks on military personnel, even if they are in the TCC, are unacceptable. He also noted that this issue needs attention at the level of legislation, because military duties must be supported by the right to self-defense for those who perform them.
At the same time, other changes in legislation related to mobilization are being discussed. In particular, it is about a new procedure for booking and cancellation of postponements, as well as about the possible mobilization of women. Andrii Savenko, lieutenant colonel of the Main Directorate of Intelligence, expressed the opinion that if a person has not visited the military commissariat in 10 years of war, then his desire to serve should not be questioned.
