Electricity blackout schedules are introduced in Ukraine

Today, Ukrenergo announced the introduction of electricity blackout schedules for business and industrial consumers. Restrictions will be in effect during the day and will be lifted in the evening after the equipment has stabilized. At the same time, household consumers will not experience any restrictions, which has become a reassuring moment for the population.

The reason for the introduction of such restrictions lies in the short-term reduction in the capacity of shunting generation and the reduction in the volume of electricity imports, Ukrenergo notes. This is a temporary measure that will help stabilize the energy system of Ukraine.

What can businesses expect?

Restrictions should not be long-term: they will be effective only during the day, and already in the evening the energy supply will be fully restored. This will enable industrial users to plan their work taking into account the new schedules and avoid productivity losses during peak evening hours.

Ukrenergo also urged business and industry to use electricity wisely, especially during periods of reduced capacity, to maintain the stability of the country's energy system.

Such measures make it possible to avoid more serious interruptions, reduce risks for the system and support its stable operation. Energy restrictions for business and industry have become part of general efforts to ensure the stability of Ukraine's energy system, which is especially important in the conditions of the winter period and increased load on the network.
