Ukraine is in a state of war, and this requires the maximum mobilization of efforts of every citizen to maintain defense capabilities and restore the country's economy. This was stated by Andrii Hnatush, an expert on energy issues and captain of the ZSU. He expressed the opinion that for this it is necessary to consider the possibility of changing the working day from 8 hours to 10 hours.
"Ukrainians need to mobilize as much as possible. Understand that the war affects them. And whoever forgot, he can sit in the dark, look at the black streets outside the window. It is necessary to participate as much as possible in raising the defense capability of the country. In general, I would consider the option of transferring from an 8-hour working day to a 10-hour working day at the state's place. For two hours, we are working on the restoration of the country's economy, on energy capacities, on the military industry," Hnatus said.
The expert emphasized that war is not only a matter for the military, but also for every citizen. In his opinion, the extension of the working day could be a significant contribution to the recovery of critical industries such as the defense-industrial complex (VPC) and energy.
Commenting on Russia's strikes on Ukrainian energy, Hnatus drew attention to the fact that the Russian Federation is fighting not only for territories, but also for Ukraine's energy. According to him, Russia is trying to restore the single energy ring that existed during the times of the Soviet Union and included Ukraine and Belarus.
"Yes, our energy system is in tatters. And so it is that the world applauds the fact that we tear each other to pieces in the energy sector. The Russian Federation was like those mice - they cried, but continued to bite the cactus. Russia started this aggression, this bloody war, with the aim of returning us to a single energy ring with itself and Belarus," Hnatus explained.
He noted that after Ukraine's exit from this circle and its integration into the European energy system, a huge "hole" was formed in the energy ring of the Russian Federation. This, in his opinion, is one of the reasons why Russia continues its aggressive actions aimed at undermining Ukraine's critical infrastructure.
"Resources, people, energy and political influence - this is what they do all this for, bury their people, do not count on losses and will continue to carry out these terrorist attacks on critical infrastructure and the civilian population of Ukraine," Hnatus concluded.
