In Ukraine, positions in the customs service are bought for millions of dollars

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) together with the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) discovered and stopped a serious attempt at corruption related to an attempt to appoint persons to managerial positions in the territorial bodies of the State Customs Service of Ukraine. A group of individuals tried to organize corruption schemes through these positions.

The positions were offered from 1 million to 200 thousand dollars.

This is reported by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, $1 million was offered for the position of head of the Lviv customs office, and the positions of heads of the Volyn and Chernivtsi customs offices were valued at $500,000 and $200,000, respectively.

In addition, the members of the group counted on the fact that the leadership of the State Customs Service would not notice corruption schemes at these customs in exchange for half of the illegally obtained income.

Two persons were informed of suspicion under part 2 of Art. 15, Part 4 of Art. 27 and Part 4 of Art. 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the initiator of the crime was detained on the basis of Art. 208 of the CPC of Ukraine.
