The Cabinet of Ministers announced the state enterprise "Izotop" from Kyiv as a strategic object for the economy and security of the state, the head of the State Property Fund Vitaliy Koval said.
According to representatives of the State Property Fund, this decision opens wide prospects for the development of the enterprise and encourages the expansion of its activities.
SE "Izotop" is a leading supplier of radioisotope products and sources of ionizing radiation for medical and energy institutions in Ukraine. It also deals with disposal of sources of ionizing radiation.
Thanks to its many years of experience and qualified personnel, the company is considered an important asset for the country.
The next step in development will be the expansion of the enterprise's range of activities. "Izotop" plans to produce radiopharmaceuticals.
The State Property Fund began the process of granting Isotope the status of a strategic enterprise back in January 2024.
"The new status will lead to an increase in Isotope's profit, the creation of new jobs and a greater flow of funds to the budget," Koval emphasized.
SE "Izotop" was founded in 1962 and currently cooperates with companies from the USA, Canada and other countries. It also has experience of cooperation with the German government within the framework of the nuclear materials protection program. In July 2023, the company's activities were inspected by the IAEA mission for support and assistance in matters of safety of ionizing radiation sources in Ukraine.
