A scandal surrounding the construction of the Uzh Towers residential complex is ongoing in the city of Uzhhorod. Local residents and activists are expressing concerns about the legality of the project and possible patronage by the head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Transcarpathian region, General Yaroslav Kolesnyk.
According to information published on the portal “UA-Reporter”, the director of the developer enterprise PE “Klimat-Trade” Stanislav Leppik was declared guilty of committing a criminal offense. He is accused of continuing construction work at the facility, despite the court decision to ban construction and impose an arrest on the land plot. The Prosecutor's Office of Transcarpathia, together with other law enforcement agencies, receives a civil lawsuit with a request to demolish the illegally constructed building.
Some sources report that General Yaroslav Kolesnyk may be involved in corruption schemes related to the construction of Uzh Towers. He is also accused of “covering up” illegal construction and legalizing funds of dubious origin. Local businessmen also complain about coercion, extortion and illegal actions by General Kolesnyk’s subordinates.
These accusations have caused a wide resonance in society. Local residents and activists are calling for an independent investigation into the activities of the regional police leadership and the legality of the construction of Uzh Towers. They emphasize the importance of transparency and accountability of law enforcement agencies, as well as the need to comply with urban planning legislation.
The situation surrounding the Uzh Towers residential complex and the allegations against General Kolesnyk require a genuine investigation by the relevant authorities to establish the truth and ensure justice.
