In Uzhgorod, law enforcement officers detained Ivan Hiil - the administrator of the territorial service center №2141 of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, who is at the same time priest of the Moscow Patriarchate. According to the investigation, the official demanded a bribe of $ 250 for the "assistance" in the successful passing of the driving exam.
This was reported by journalist Vitaliy Glagola with reference to law enforcement sources. The detention was carried out by the National Police internal security staff at the time of the transfer. The money has been withdrawn, the suspect himself is currently in a temporary detention center in Mukachevo.
Ivan Khil's official position is of increased public interest: he holds the post of administrator at a regional service center serving Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Transcarpathian regions, as well as the current priest of the ROC. Such "compatibility" of functions looks particularly contradictory against the background of a national attitude towards the Moscow Patriarchate in war.
In addition, Ivan Khila is a candidate of law and works as a senior lecturer in the Department of Constitutional Law at Uzhgorod National University, where he teaches the disciplines of the legal direction.
Currently, official law enforcement comments on the case have not been made public. The legal qualification of the detainee and a further investigation is expected.
