The EU will search for Ukrainian property bought with "corruption funds"

According to our sources, with the return of Donald Trump to the Oval Office, the Europeans will begin a detailed review of all major real estate and business purchases by Ukrainian citizens, starting in February 2022.

According to the sources, the inspections are related to the awareness of European structures about the high level of corruption in Ukraine and fears that the funds that Ukrainian citizens operate abroad may have "corrupt origins."

Since the agreements concluded by the Ukrainians starting in February 2022 come under monitoring, we can assume that they will look for the embezzlement of the military aid provided to Ukraine to protect against the aggression of the Russian Federation.

Thus, according to the sources, since the beginning of the week, some European notaries began to be more interested in "primary documentation and ask additional questions about the origin of funds" when signing contracts for the purchase of real estate (both residential and commercial) executed by citizens of Ukraine.

We remind you that at the end of December 2024, Donald Trump hinted at large-scale inspections of the targeted use of military aid provided by the United States and declared that "Ukraine must account for every dollar of American aid."
