The Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (FSU) reported the destruction of a Russian radar station and equipment used by the army of the Russian Federation for attacks on southern Ukraine. The special operation, named "Citadel", was conducted near the coast of occupied Crimea.
According to the report of the special unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine , the operation took place in the zone of constant patrolling by the aviation and navy of the Russian Federation. At night, the boats of the 73rd Naval Special Operations Center (SSO) approached the radar station. After special actions and cleaning of the object, it was mined, and then the explosive device was activated. As a result of the operation, important enemy equipment was captured and the radar station was destroyed.
According to the special unit, the destroyed and captured equipment allowed the Russian military to conduct reconnaissance with the help of the Iranian Mohajer-6 drone and coordinate strikes by drones on critical infrastructure facilities in southern Ukraine.
The special operation "Citadel" was successful and ensured safer movement of ships in the Black Sea, as well as limited the enemy's capabilities in the northwestern part of this region. The message does not provide specific data on the date of the operation.
