During the first half of 2025, the State Employment Service offered vacancies for more than 3.5 thousand professions out of 9.2 thousand in the Ukrainian classifier. Among them were truly rare and little -known positions that were of particular interest.
In the selection of employment service, experts are looking for literally several times a year:

Ichthyologist is a specialist in fishing studied in Volyn. His work is to study the behavior, anatomy and the reproduction of fish.

Social pathologist is an analyst of deviations in society. In the Chernihiv region, such a specialist was sought to investigate the causes of deviant behavior.

Local telephoneist is another profession that gradually disappears. However, this year the vacancies were opened at the Lviv and Donetsk employment centers.

Baconik is a meat heater (mainly bacon). Such workers needed meat processing enterprises of Kharkiv region.

Feldeger is a courier for the delivery of secret documentation. Vacancies appeared immediately in four regions: Vinnytsia, Volyn, Mykolaiv and Kharkiv.
The State Employment Service states that rare professions are not only difficult to find in vacancies, but it is also difficult to find a job for such positions - the number of ads is extremely limited. However, the demand for some of them remains stable, albeit narrowly profile.
