The Higher Anti-Corruption Court (HCC) seized the property of People's Deputy Mykola Tyshchenko, which became the subject of an investigation in connection with alleged illegal enrichment. According to the information provided by journalist Oleg Novikov, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) is checking whether the income of the People's Deputies does not exceed UAH 30 million, which could indicate illegal enrichment.
One of the episodes of the investigation is the unreliable declaration of Tyshchenko's property, which, according to the investigation, was issued to Serhiy Vakalchuk, the former director of the company that owns the "Velyur" restaurant. Vakalchuk received a number of valuable assets from Tyshchenko, including an apartment in Kyiv, land plots, a house in Kozyna, as well as a 2016 Mercedes-Benz V250 car. The total value of these assets is about UAH 9 million, and the market value of the property is much higher.
Journalists claim that according to the analysis of Vakalchuk's income, he did not have the opportunity to purchase such property, which raises suspicions about the sources of these funds. According to Novikov, during the searches Tyshchenko and his wife also found significant amounts of cash: 491,550 dollars and 390,100 euros. In addition, an expensive Audemars Piguet wristwatch was discovered among the items found.
The High Anti-Corruption Court seized these items as evidence in the investigation. According to the current legislation, Tyshchenko faces criminal liability for illegal enrichment and false declaration.
