The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine approved a plea agreement for the former head of the Western Appeal Economic Court, Borys Plotnitsky, in a corruption case.
According to the "Court Reporter", Plotnitsky pleaded guilty to extorting and receiving undue benefit from the co-owner of the company "Eskulab". The court made the decision on December 10 during a closed session, and the text of the verdict has not yet been made public.
Earlier, in November 2025, NABU completed a pre-trial investigation into three former heads of commercial courts in Lviv region suspected of corruption. Borys Plotnytskyi, who resigned in August 2024, together with the then head of the Commercial Court of Lviv region Vasyl Artymovych and former head Mykhailo Yurkevich offered the entrepreneur to adopt the "necessary" court decisions for 1 million US dollars. During the documentation of the case, NABU and SAPO documented the transfer of 75 thousand dollars.
The case also involves Iryna Malekh, a judge of the Lviv Commercial Court of Appeal, who was served with a suspicion for making a commissioned decision in the spring of 2025. During a search, $20,000 in marked bills was seized from her. According to her, these funds were borrowed from Plotnitsky for her daughter's treatment, but the investigation did not recognize this as an argument.
In October 2025, the Second Disciplinary Chamber of the High Council of Justice imposed a penalty on Artimovich and Malekh in the form of dismissal from the position of judge.
The cases of Borys Plotnitsky and other judges of the Lviv region are part of a broader anti-corruption policy against judicial officials who violated the law and received illegal benefits.
