Ex-People's Deputy Oleksandr Onyshchenko commented on the decision of VACS to sentence him in absentia to 15 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.

"Not surprised. I drew attention to a temporary coincidence of circumstances. Last time NABU and SAP were disturbed and active during the election campaign of US President Joe Biden. Here we lived to the new campaign in the USA, where they decided to sentence me, as a supporter and friend of Trump, to 15 years," Onishchenko comments. He said the maximum sentence under the article he was charged with was 12 years. "And I have 15, like a serial killer," he says.
When asked by "Strany" whether he was offered a deal with the investigation and why it was not possible to reach an agreement in his case, as, for example, Mykola Zlochevskyi did, who signed an agreement with the investigation, Onyshchenko answered yes.
"It's all the same reason. "Zlochevsky is a friend of Biden", "Onyshchenko is a friend of Trump." According to this logic, we will start negotiating when Trump wins the elections in the USA, where his chances are very good," he says.
According to Onyshchenko, in the near future he will file an appeal against the decision of the VACS, and in the future - he will appeal this case in European courts. "In the conditions of war, media censorship and the system of manual management of courts mired in corruption, a fair process is impossible," he said.
