The former commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valery Zaluzhny, has not yet left for Great Britain to start work as Ukraine's ambassador, and is still in Kyiv. Perhaps he is preparing for new responsibilities, in particular, he is learning a language and taking appropriate courses.
Oleksandr Merezhko, head of the committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on foreign policy and interparliamentary cooperation, told about the preparation of the ex-head of the committee.
"I think that Zaluzhnyi is preparing for this and may be taking some training or preparatory courses. This is a normal practice in many countries, including the United States. The future ambassador studies information about the host country, learns the language, etc. The better he prepares to fulfill the duties of an ambassador, the easier it will be for him," said the People's Deputy.
According to him, Zaluzhnyi should start working as an ambassador to Britain in the near future. However, the exact date is unknown.
According to anonymous Telegram channels, which are said to be close to the President's Office, Bankova created artificial obstacles for the former head of state, in particular, delayed the issuance of a visa, although it was promised to be issued.
Earlier it became known that Valery Zaluzhnyi is still in Ukraine. Ukrainian singer Yaroslava Rudenko published a photo with him in his office in the capital.
It will be recalled that on May 9, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi signed a decree on the appointment of Zaluzhny as ambassador.
Valery Zaluzhny recently found himself at the center of a scandal after his verified account liked a post by a well-known Poroshenko supporter and government critic Myroslav Oleshko. After the Internet scandal, Oleshko deleted his post.
