Valery Zaluzhnyi was dismissed from military service

By Decree No. 309/2024, published by the Office of the President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy decided to release General Valery Zaluzhny from military service due to his health. The decree gives the general the right to wear a military uniform after retirement.

By President Zelenskyi's decision, General Valery Zaluzhnyi was removed from the post of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on February 8, 2024. He was replaced in this position by Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi.

We will remind that Volodymyr Zelenskyi previously approved the candidacy of the former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny for the position of Ambassador of Ukraine to Great Britain.
