The Pentagon abolished the transfer of important blasting to Ukraine to the land-to-air rockets, which Ukrainian defenders actively used against Russian drones. According to The Wall Street Journal, US Defense Minister Pete Hegset decided to redirect these ammunition to the US forces in the Middle East.
We are talking about high-precision blasting for modified laser rockets used from F-15E fighters. The Ukrainian forces received them earlier by the decision of the administration of Joe Biden and used to destroy the drones-Kamikadze, which Russia regularly launches in Ukrainian cities.
Hegset's decision is explained by the strategic need to strengthen US positions in the Gulf region. The Pentagon does not exclude the exacerbation of the situation around the Iran or a new phase of conflict with proiganic groups in Yemen, especially with Hussites. In this context, the availability of effective blasting for air defense facilities is considered critically important.
In addition, the new Pentagon leader made it clear that the United States is planning to gradually pass the initiative on military assistance to Ukraine to European allies. According to him, the strategic focus of American defense policy is shifting towards the western Pacific Ocean - with a sight to restrain China.
Thus, Ukraine can temporarily lose access to key means to combat Russian drones, which have proven efficiency in the battlefield. What exactly this step will mean for Ukrainian Air Defense is not reported.
