Fedir Venislavsky, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, shared his thoughts on the situation with reservations in Ukraine in an interview with Radio NV. According to him, President Volodymyr Zelensky could have received the total number of those currently reserved, but this is not representative information reflecting the growth dynamics of this category.
Venislavsky neither confirmed nor denied the information that the president was outraged by the number of people booked in Ukraine. “I do not have such information, I have not communicated with the president, so I cannot confirm or deny this information,” he noted.
During the Cabinet meeting, the issues related to the reservation of military conscripts for critical infrastructure enterprises were discussed. According to the People's Deputy, there are abuses in the reservation process by enterprises, which require attention.
Venislavsky stressed that it is not entirely correct to draw a linear relationship between the increase in the number of reserved persons and the mechanisms introduced by the government. Changes in the mobilization legislation, which provided for reservation mechanisms, led to the transfer of a significant number of Ukrainian citizens who were entitled to a deferral to the status of reserved persons.
Among those who received “reservations” are police officers who previously had the right to deferment, but now all of them fall under the new reservation mechanisms. Venislavsky suggested that the president has been given the total number of those who have been reserved to date.
