Verbytskyi continues to hold the position of prosecutor in the Prosecutor General's Office

Dmytro Verbytskyi, who was dismissed from the post of Deputy Prosecutor General by order of Andriy Kostin, continues to work as a prosecutor of the Prosecutor General's Office.

"Currently, Dmytro Verbytskyi has the status of a prosecutor of the General Prosecutor's Office," the OGP noted.

The department did not specify whether Verbytskyi was planned to be reassigned to another administrative position in the prosecutor's office, but confirmed that he had not received an application for appointment to any position in the prosecutor's office of Ukraine as of July 3, 2024.

In addition, the OGP reported that an official investigation is being conducted regarding Verbytskyi and the legality of the reconciliation of his assets, appointed by the order of the Prosecutor General.

It will be recalled that in May, journalists published an investigation in which it was reported that the Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine Dmytro Verbytskyi lives in a house in the elite cottage town of "Konyk" in Kyiv, which his nephew purchased by proxy from an Odessa businessman for over 2 million hryvnias - which, according to of market prices is a 6 times lower value.

In June, the media also reported that Dmytro Verbytskyi's girlfriend Khrystyna Ilnytska in 2024 became the owner of elite property worth at least 52 million hryvnias, without having sufficient official income of her own.

At the same time, Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin did not come to the Verkhovna Rada to answer the questions of people's deputies regarding the investigation of the journalists of "Schema" and NABU regarding the illegal enrichment of his deputy Dmytro Verbytskyi.

On July 1, Dmytro Verbytskyi was dismissed from the post of Deputy Prosecutor General. Verbytskyi said that he wrote a resignation letter in order to avoid a negative impact on the work of the prosecutor's office.

Since July, the NAKC reported that during lifestyle monitoring, it found signs of a corruption criminal offense in the actions of the former Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine Dmytro Verbytskyi, which indicate his illegal enrichment of almost UAH 29 million.
