Verbytsky continues to hold the position of prosecutor in the Prosecutor General's Office

Dmytro Verbytsky, who was dismissed from the position of Deputy Prosecutor General by order of Andriy Kostin, continues to work as a prosecutor in the Prosecutor General's Office.

“Currently, Dmytro Verbytskyi has the status of a prosecutor of the Prosecutor General's Office,” the UCP noted.

The department did not specify whether Verbytsky is planned to be reassigned to another administrative position in the prosecutor's office, but confirmed that as of July 3, 2024, he had not received an application for appointment to any position in the prosecutor's office of Ukraine.

In addition, the UCP reported that an official investigation is underway regarding Verbytsky and the legality of the approval of his assets, appointed by order of the Prosecutor General.

As a reminder, in May, journalists published an investigation that reported that Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine Dmytro Verbytskyi lives in a house in the elite cottage town of Konyk in Kyiv, which his nephew purchased by proxy from an Odessa businessman for over 2 million hryvnias - which, according to market prices, is a 6-fold undervalued value.

In June, the media also reported that Dmytro Verbytskyi's girlfriend, Khrystyna Ilnytska, became the owner of elite property worth at least 52 million hryvnias in 2024, without having sufficient official income of her own.

At the same time, Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin did not come to the Verkhovna Rada to answer questions from people's deputies regarding the investigation by journalists from "Scheme" and the NABU into the illegal enrichment of his deputy Dmytro Verbytsky.

On July 1, Dmytro Verbytsky was dismissed from his position as Deputy Prosecutor General. Verbytsky stated that he wrote his resignation letter in order to avoid a negative impact on the work of the prosecutor's office.

In July, the NACP reported that during lifestyle monitoring, it found signs of a corruption-related criminal offense in the actions of former Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine Dmytro Verbytskyi, indicating his illegal enrichment of almost UAH 29 million.
