Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Iryna Vereshchuk called the claims that thousands of internally displaced persons are returning to territories not controlled by Ukraine false.
According to Vereshchuk, there is no and cannot be any confirmed data on the mass return of displaced people. She accused individual officials and politicians of spreading these statements to create sensational headlines.
"Such statements create the impression that life is better under occupation than in Ukraine. This is a subversive and criminal narrative that helps the enemy," Vereshchuk said.
Although Vereshchuk acknowledged that state support for IDPs remains insufficient, she emphasized that this is not the main reason that could encourage people to return to the occupied territories.
"Instead of spreading false information, I urge you to focus on real assistance to displaced people," the deputy head of the OP emphasized.
Iryna Vereshchuk addressed the authors of such statements, emphasizing that their words only harm Ukraine's information security. She also suggested finding other topics to attract attention instead of speculation on the topic of IDPs.
