The Verkhovna Rada increased the military levy more than three times

A working group of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has decided to significantly increase the military levy, which will now be 5%. The decision is part of a bill to increase taxes, which also provides for the introduction of a levy for individual entrepreneurs (IEOs).

Thus, it was agreed to increase the military levy on the income of Ukrainians from 1.5% to 5%.

According to the calculations of the Ministry of Finance, this increase will allow attracting UAH 27.3 billion to the budget in 2024, and UAH 107.7 billion in 2025.

In addition, a 1% fee will be introduced for individual entrepreneurs of the third group. This will give the budget 5.9 billion UAH. The military levy for legal entities on the single tax of the third group has been removed.

The military levy will be directed through a special fund exclusively to finance the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
