The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted an important draft law No. 12095, which allows military personnel who first deserted or voluntarily left their units to voluntarily return to service. The document was adopted in the second reading and by a total of 253 votes of people's deputies.
According to the new law, during martial law, servicemen who left their units or places of service will have the opportunity to return to service without negative consequences for their careers. In the case of voluntary return to service, all social guarantees, benefits and benefits, including monetary, food and material support, are restored to them.
A special feature of the law is that criminal proceedings against servicemen who left their units without permission will not be grounds for refusing to renew their contracts or for continuing military service. Thus, the law creates an opportunity for the rehabilitation of military personnel who decided to return and expressed their willingness to continue their service in wartime conditions.
The adoption of this law aims not only to replenish the ranks of the army at the expense of those who have not fulfilled their duties earlier, but also to create a support mechanism for those who decide to return to military service, given the difficult conditions of wartime.
