The Verkhovna Rada adopted the draft law on lobbying in the first reading

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine voted for the draft law on honest lobbying during the first reading. People's deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak from the "Golos" faction announced the news through his Telegram channel.

Legislative initiative No. 10337 received the support of 309 people's deputies. The goal of the project is to establish the legal basis of lobbying in accordance with international practices and standards. In particular, the law provides for regulatory and legal regulation of the interaction of government officials with interested parties and lobbying subjects.

The project also defines the rights and obligations of lobbying subjects, methods of influence and rules of ethical behavior. A Transparency Register is being created, the administrator of which is the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption. Access to the register will be open and free of charge.

The draft law provides for reporting by lobbying entities and establishes control mechanisms for their activities. It is expected that this initiative will contribute to reducing the level of corruption factors in the processes of adoption of normative legal acts.

The head of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, Oleksandr Novikov, noted the importance of adopting the law to reveal the influence on deputies of all levels. It was noted that this law is key for Ukraine's path to the European Union and NATO.
