The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is returning Soviet initial military training to schools

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted draft law No. 11092, which returns the initial military training, known since Soviet times, to the school curriculum. 297 People's Deputies voted for this draft law in the second reading, which ensured its adoption.

As Roman Hryshchuk, head of the extracurricular education subcommittee of the Verkhovna Rada committee, reported, all students will study the subject "Defense of Ukraine", as well as mathematics or the Ukrainian language.

"The law introduces the concept of "initial military training", which will enable the government to make the study of this subject mandatory. Greater emphasis is placed on technologies, on the internal motivation of a citizen to protect his state," Hryschuk added.
