Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister of National Unity Oleksiy Chernyshov said that the return of Ukrainians who are abroad will take place exclusively on a voluntary basis. The statements came in response to rumors circulating in the media about the possibility of coercive measures for those who left the country during the war.
As Chernyshov noted, "there are 20-25 million of us abroad, according to our estimates, there are approximately 32 million in Ukraine."
We are starting the process of returning Ukrainians home. But this return will be purely voluntary, no coercive measures will be taken. We will also be happy for the success of Ukrainians abroad, if they find a place for themselves and their families there
The Deputy Prime Minister also announced the creation of the National Unity Agency and the opening of hubs in various countries to support communication with Ukrainians abroad.
50% of men of draft age are ready to return to Ukraine before the end of the war when the reservation issue is resolved. "Unity hubs" will help with documents and employment.
