"For the period from February 24, 2022 to November 30, 2024, the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights recorded more than 12,340 dead and 27,836 wounded civilians in Ukraine," said UN Deputy Secretary-General for Disarmament Affairs Izumi Nakamitsu at a meeting of the Security Council. writes "Ukrinform".
According to her, the reason for the death of about 42% of Ukrainian civilians during November was the use of long-range weapons by the Russians. This indicator significantly exceeds the data for previous months.
Nakamitsu also cited this year's statistics of the UN Monitoring Mission on Human Rights in Ukraine. According to these data, from January 1 to November 30, 341 civilians were killed as a result of aerial bombardment by the Russian occupying forces. Another 1,803 people were injured as a result of these attacks. This is three and six times, respectively, higher than the same figures last year.
As UNIAN reported, until this September was the month with the highest number of civilian casualties in Ukraine – 208 dead civilians and 1,220 wounded.
In November, the Russians launched a significant number of massive attacks on Ukraine. Thus, during the night and morning of November 17, 144 air targets were destroyed in the sky over Ukraine - 102 missiles and 42 UAVs. In total, there were 210 air targets of the Russian Federation.
