Light off: Who will be tolerated from February 10

On Monday, February 10, new restrictions on electricity consumption will be in force in Ukraine. So far, they will only relate to business and industrial enterprises and will last from 06:00 to 21:00. The statement was made by Ukrenergo, explaining it with the consequences of Russian attacks on energy infrastructure.

The main reason for the introduction of restrictions were damage to energy objects due to massive rocket-okory attacks. Energy is actively working on the restoration of damaged objects, but so far the system requires additional loading.

New rules will not affect household consumers. Disabling is planned exclusively for business and industrial enterprises. Ukrenergo also stressed that the amount and time of restrictions may change during the day.

Consumer recommendations

  • Energy are urging Ukrainians to consume electricity.
  • They are advised not to turn on a few powerful appliances at the same time.
  • It is recommended to monitor the updates on the official pages of local power companies.

The last mass switching off of light in Ukraine took place on February 7, when emergency graphics were used in eight regions, mainly for industry. Despite the pessimistic forecasts of some "experts", the country was able to pass the winter months without mass shutdowns to the population.

Ukraine's power system continues to demonstrate sustainability, although the fight against the consequences of hostile attacks is ongoing. Returning restrictions for business is a temporary step that will stabilize the situation before the repair work is completed.
