The Appellate Chamber of the Higher Anti-Corruption Court (HCC) rejected an appeal to cancel the suspicion against the former head of PrivatBank, Oleksandr Dubilet, in the case related to the oligarch Igor Kolomoisky for the acquisition of the sum of 9.2 billion hryvnias.
The decision was made by the Appeals Chamber of the VAX on Friday, June 5.
"The appeal of the suspect's lawyer (Dubilet. - Ed.) should be rejected. The decision of the investigating judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court dated May 22, 2024 shall remain unchanged. This decision is final and comes into force from the moment of its announcement, and is not subject to further appeal in the cassation procedure," the decision states.
In October 2023, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) announced a search warrant for the former chairman of the board of PrivatBank Oleksandr Dubilet and his deputy Lyudmila Shmalchenko in a case related to Ihor Kolomoisky, regarding the possible seizure of the bank's funds in the amount of 9.2 billion hryvnias. Dubileta was also declared wanted in another case of PrivatBank, which concerns the possible embezzlement of the bank's funds in the amount of 8.2 billion hryvnias, which has already been submitted to the court.
In May 22, VAKS rejected the lawsuit of Dubilet's lawyers, who demanded to cancel the suspicion against their client. However, they appealed this decision.
