30 kilometers from the Russian border - large -scale construction for budgetary funds. In the city of Trostyanets, the Sumy region began the reconstruction of the railway station of the 40th Army, destroyed in the first days of a full-scale invasion. A row was received by the Odesa company "Avtomagistral-South", which appears in criminal proceedings on the probable appropriation of public funds.
The contract of UAH 23 million was concluded on June 9, the restoration service in the Sumy region. And before the dismantling, another 9.5 million has already taken place - these works have been chosen by another company. The total cost of reconstruction in the first stage only reaches more than UAH 32 million.
The city of Trostyanets, which became one of the symbols of resistance in the first weeks of the war, has been significantly destruction. The invaders struck the railway station and practically wiped the area of the 40th army from the face of the earth. After his release, the city entered the pilot state project to restore destroyed settlements.
The restoration of the area involves not only landscaping and new engineering networks, but also a memorial complex in honor of liberation from Russian troops. The works are funded by the Fund for the Elimination of the Consequences of Armed Aggression.
However, the contractor who took up the reconstruction raises many questions.
This company has been a leader in the contractors of the presidential program and has received government orders for over UAH 132 billion only since 2016. The owner of the company - Oleksandr Boyko - June 19, together with four more persons, received suspicion of theft of funds on the construction of a water supply for Kryvyi Rih.
It is a project of strategic importance - the construction of a water supply after the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station. According to the investigation, Boyko purchased pipes through controlled firms, inflating the price of more than 40% of market. The amount of possible losses of the state is UAH 240 million.
Nevertheless, the company continues to receive new contracts, including in the border and frontier regions.
The area in Trostyanka is not the only large -scale project at a dangerous distance from the front. In particular, in Kiselivka in Kherson region, located only 20-25 km from the line of hostilities, the reconstruction of the gymnasium worth more than UAH 100 million has started.
And in Kryvyi Rih - Kindergarten overhaul №180 for more than 108 million, the financing of which is coming from the local budget. It should be completed by the end of 2026.
The most expensive construction near the front today is a project in the village of Poskrovske in Kherson region. There, construction is also funded within the State Recovery Program.
Reconstruction in the risk zone is a forced step during the war. But the question of the integrity of contractors, especially when it comes to the persons involved in high -profile criminal cases, cannot be ignored. Why is a company suspected of appropriation of hundreds of millions without interruption of new government orders? And who is responsible for this choice?
While in Trostyanka they repair the area, and in other frontier cities - schools and kindergartens, firms with the history of scandals and profits continue to earn on the budget - even at the distance of the direct reach of enemy artillery.
