Dentist from Germany Marcus Felber shared tips on proper teeth care and dispelled common mistakes that many people are assumed.
One of the most popular myths is the need to brush your teeth immediately after eating. The doctor warns: you should not do this. The fact is that after eating, the tooth enamel is covered with a temporary acid sheath, which is restored over time. If you start brushing your teeth immediately, it can damage the enamel and make your teeth more sensitive.
You should also not think that the apple eaten can replace the toothbrush. Although apples are really cleaning the oral cavity, their acidity is able to harm enamel, especially with regular use without mouth rinsing after.
Another common mistake is to clean the cleaning technique: movements "from gums to teeth" can lead to irritation and even damage to the mucous membrane. Felber advises to replace this method with softer movements from left to right, which is safer to remove plaque.
In addition, the dentist does not recommend the use of soda or whitening cleaners frequently - it can thin the enamel and cause long -term problems. Instead, the specialist advises to pay attention to the daily use of dental thread - it is effectively cleansing the gaps between the teeth, where the most often accumulate food residues.
Such simple changes in daily hygiene will help keep your smile healthy and beautiful for years to come.
