MP Serhiy Rudyk, who is currently serving at the front, sharply criticized the Verkhovna Rada's decision to suspend its activities for a month. The next plenary session is scheduled only for August 21, which caused indignation in Rudyk.
In his posts on Facebook, Rudyk emphasized that such a long break looks absolutely unacceptable in wartime. “Imagine a situation where we, the military, got together and went on vacation for a month. The war can wait, right?” — wrote Rudyk. “You say, such savagery doesn’t fit in your head? No, it’s a completely real picture. The parliament of a warring country was closed like a barn lock for a whole month, until August 21. Military bills (and there were quite a few of them) – don’t care. Corruption, European integration, budget revision – purple. Customs reform, where billions are being stretched into pockets – not the time.”.
Rudyk noted that this decision may be beneficial to certain groups. “Firstly, without a decision from the parliament, the government is dragging out the Budget Resolution for 25-27 years. And there, you know, the freezing of social spending for serfs, it is better to accept it “quietly”. Secondly, we need to slow down the scandalous issue with the UOC FSB. A little noise and that’s enough. We can’t accept it, it will somehow be inconvenient for the allies from the OPZH, or maybe they have already quietly put the Moscow church up for auction with the Russians,” the military people’s deputy noted.
Rudyk also emphasized that “what they are doing to the parliament now is a real crime.” “Destroying the legislative body and stalling laws that strengthen our defense capabilities is stupidity and working for the enemy,” he added.
