In Poltava, 62-year-old pensioner Marina Novikova decided to take revenge on her neighbor for long-standing conflicts, but her methods are shocking. The woman turned to an acquaintance with a request to find executors who would kidnap her husband for $500, take him out of town, and deprive him of his sight.
According to the investigation, in July 2024, Novikova developed a detailed plan. She provided the perpetrator with a photograph of the neighbor, a description of his route and place of residence. The condition for execution was to save the victim's life, but with the obligatory infliction of serious bodily harm.
The accused also noted that she would return the money for the order after confirming the infliction of serious bodily harm.
However, the plan failed. Information about the order reached law enforcement officers, who staged a kidnapping and assault. On July 25, Novikov was detained while transferring $500.

Initially, the Oktyabrsky District Court of Poltava ordered the woman to be placed under 24-hour house arrest, but she was later taken into custody. However, two weeks later, the pensioner was placed under house arrest again. The lawyer justified this by saying that her son is a drug addict and needs help from his mother, and Novikova herself has serious health problems.
“She is positively characterized by her neighbors,” the lawyer noted, although the neighbors themselves may not be so categorical after the crime is solved.
What threatens the pensioner?
In mid-October, the investigation was completed and the indictment was submitted to the court. If Novikova is found guilty, she faces seven to ten years in prison.
