On Tuesday, May 7, one of the main players of the local football team "Khust" was mobilized into the army in the town of Khust in Transcarpathia.
This was announced by the football club itself through its official communication channels.
"At the time of his detention, the football player was 25 years old, although the law has not yet entered into force, the famous Khust TCC has its own rules for the illegal detention of people. There is currently no contact with the football player. Further fate is unknown," the club declares.
He reports that the championship of Ukraine is on the verge of collapse, because "the teams refuse to go to Khust because of the actions of Khust TCC".
The Armed Forces of Ukraine commented on the mobilization of the Zakarpattia "Khust" football player.
"We support Ukrainian football, but we put the defense of Ukraine first. The attempt of the football club to make its players privileged compared to other citizens of Ukraine and to put the interests of the football club above the defense of the country is strange," the Zahid operational command stated.
And they emphasize that football players who do not have a legal basis and a properly issued reservation are subject to mobilization, like the rest of the citizens.
Earlier it was reported that at least five clubs of Ukraine received reservations for their football players: "Dynamo", "Shakhtar", "Dnipro-1", "Obolon" and "Kryvbas".
