Our source in the General Staff said that the military police will be looking for evaders, who will have the right to enter the homes of Ukrainians without trial.
The new structure will include military commissars, who will be diluted with military personnel and veterans, so that the new structure has a cover.
According to the text of the draft law, the military police will be staffed from the strength of the Armed Forces, but it cannot exceed 1.5% of the total strength of the Armed Forces.
The decision on the creation, number and composition of management bodies, units, centers of military police and disciplinary battalions, determination of their structure and deployment is made by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, based on the conditions of deployment of troops, but only on the proposal of the head of the military police, previously agreed with the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine .
The military police is staffed by servicemen who undergo military service under a contract and by conscription. The central governing body of the military police and territorial governing bodies of the military police may be staffed by civil servants and employees. Employees of the military police include persons who have entered into an employment contract with the Military Police.
The head of the military police will be appointed by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi.
The general structure of the new law enforcement body is as follows:
1) the central authority of the military police;
2) territorial military police management bodies (interregional, regional, local);
3) special purpose centers;
4) military police training centers;
5) disciplinary battalions.
"In the structure of the Military Police's management bodies, there are operative and operational-technical units, patrol and post service units, road traffic safety units, internal security units, guardhouses, as well as other units whose activities are aimed at fulfilling the tasks of the Military Police or ensuring its functioning ", the document says.
