The latest events in the Odesa region became a reason for serious public indignation due to accusations against the commander of the regional territorial defense department "South". According to information published in the mass media, the commander of this unit forced the military to build him a private house, which is only the tip of the iceberg of this story.
Under the noise of war, at the same time, the military is openly looting recreational lands and infrastructure near Odessa, setting up entire fiefdoms for the middle and top management of the Armed Forces and the hierarchs of the TCC. In 2022-2024, near Chornomorsk (Illichivsk) of the Odesa region, under the guise of "defense needs", a whole "pixel" cottage town near the sea has grown.
The object is located on the side of the resort village "Sokil", below the horticultural society "Veteran". In 2024, the military "squeezed" a huge wild beach below. They closed all the passages with fences, deprived local residents and guests of the city of the opportunity to swim and rest on the beach, where people have led a healthy lifestyle for decades.
It is interesting that the military take water for their needs with the help of a pressure tower from the land of the society cut off by them from the sea, and dump their waste directly into the sea, taking advantage of military confusion. According to the available data, high military ranks from Kyiv, high and middle military ranks of Odesa region, the leadership of the regional TCC and their "favorites" of the middle rank regularly "chile" in a small new cottage village from several log cabins.
So that the soldiers do not have to limit themselves in alcohol, a 24-hour alcohol trade is organized near the "recreational complex", seniors by rank regularly send younger people to buy "insidious water", there are no problems with "quick" drugs there either.
Probably, the idea of seizing a piece of the coast, a beach and setting up a closed "elite" military "rest zone" there came to the officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a result of the complete impunity of their actions in the Odesa region. It started with the shooting by the military of a policeman in Chornomorsk in February 2022. It continued with mockery, beatings and "sending to the basement" of random passers-by under the guise of fighting saboteurs.
Later, with the courage of permissiveness, the military shot a local resident on Hrybivka beach who tried to swim in the sea, despite the ban. The situation was hushed up, the military had nothing to do with it. Convinced of impunity, after that incident, the military fired dozens of rocket launchers and scared local residents with automatic volleys in harmless situations.
In addition, in order to intimidate the local population, soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on jeeps with rocket launchers and anti-aircraft guns often drove around the Black Sea at night, and in the absence of any foreign objects in the air, they fired from all guns to strike terror into the local population. This was done in order to teach local residents to be afraid to go out at night - so that people do not see how American weapons are pushed for sale through the port, how Chinese contraband is transported with the support of the military leadership, how generals drive building materials for the construction of elite summer houses under the cover of night sea.
All these are well-known topics in everyday communication in the Odesa region, but people do not want to publicly speak out against what is happening, so as not to suffer reprisals. Here, the military thinks that it is possible to seize pieces of precious coastal land, entire beaches, deprive people of access to the sea and behave as "first class", for whom ordinary Ukrainians of the Odesa region are inferior. For such representatives of the Armed Forces, the end of the war means the end of permissiveness, profitable businesses covered by the war, the threat of losing illegally captured coastal lands and beaches.
